Biography
Juan Pablo (JP) is a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student specializing in Thermal Fluids Systems. In 2021, he graduated from Rice University with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Philosophy. Currently, he is a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at the Oden Institute working at the Multiscale Nanotechnology Group with Dr. Narayana Aluru. JP is interested in thermal fluid systems, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction problems, multiscale modeling, and turbulent flows. His research investigates the effects of phonon-induced oscillations on water transport through carbon nanotubes and nanopores for the purpose of water desalination.
